Men Are Getting It!

By Clea Spahn

There is still a big difference when it comes to the women and men having cosmetic procedure or plastic surgery, but the number of men considering these options is increasing. The expanding popularity of non-surgical options to improve your appearance has certainly caught men up in its storm.

Most men want a fast recovery time, and for the procedure to be unnoticed by their friends, family and coworkers, they want the process to fit into their life with ease. Nowadays, men pay more attention to how their skin appears due to the higher awareness of skin cancer, and of course men also like to improve their appearance when they can. It's also easier to see that the more sun exposed are also the most aged and this is no surprise given the deleterious effect of UV light on the skin's elastic network.

Future sun damage can be reduced, and damage from the past can be repaired as much as possible. It's a simple thing to do after the daily shave with perhaps a bit of a top up at night before retiring.

For men, one of the more popular types of procedures is rhinoplasty. Usually it's the size of the nose that is the issue, but an uneven or crooked nose are also reasons for the procedure. Usually this is a day patient procedure that uses a general anaesthetic, and there could be some bruising for 2 weeks, with the patient returning to work in a week after a rhinoplasty.

Facial rejuvenation procedures such as face and neck lift and blepharoplasty can be done with very inconspicuous scars and this also appeals to men. Usually, men prefer that these processes are not obvious at all. Mostly, men would prefer to have some wrinkles than have a major surgical procedure that would be obvious to their acquaintences.

Despite attention to diet and a vigorous exercise program some men simply can't shift certain deposits of fat. An over abundance of fat appears on the abdomen or flank of men, and these are the main areas of concern. Men can usually return to work the day after having a liposuction procedure, as it's a day procedure that will help to reduce excess fat in these regions.

Accompanying this expanding interest in the muscular athletic male body is a desire for hair removal. Using the latest advances in laser technology, hair removal has become more and more effective in recent years. A series of treatments are required to each region and the procedure is best performed when the skin is not tanned.

The reasons men decide to have these procedures done is not always the same as why women do it. In the world of business, competitiveness is big, and how someone looks is part of it. In order to turn back the clock and look youthful once again, finding a cosmetic surgeon who has treated men and has that experience is wise.
